HealthTap is pleased to feature Dr. Manav Singla, a Featured Medical Expert. Dr. Singla received his MD from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine after receiving certification as an EMT during his undergraduate career. He then completed his Internship and Residency in Pediatric Medicine at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. Dr Singla continued his education with a Fellowship concentrated in Pediatric and Adult Allergy & Immunology from Wake Forest University Medical Center. Notably, he is an accomplished and passionate teacher. Dr. Singla has been invited multiple times to present in Grand Rounds, taught in a number of Residency Training programs and has been a long-standing Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. His research includes work on holistic and innovative treatments for asthma, as well as case studies on patients with genetic susceptibilities to allergens. Dr. Singla currently works at the Asthma, Allergy & Sinus Center in Baltimore, Maryland as an Allergist.
Dr. Singla finds much joy in his work as a physician and carries his enthusiasm for teaching into his contributions on HealthTap. “Becoming a physician has been the most rewarding experience in my life allowing me to touch people in ways that I never thought possible. What a wonderful position to be in – teacher and healer! Allergy and immunology has been particularly rewarding because it allows me to focus in on very specific problems and then develop enough expertise to provide unique and targeted advice. I certainly enjoy the teaching aspect of my practice more than anything …it really is gratifying knowing that the students and patients want to learn and subsequently become empowered to manage their health.”
