HealthTap is pleased to feature Dr. Russell Faust, one of our leading experts. Dr. Faust is a pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat doctor, who received his M.D. from the University of Minnesota and completed his specialty fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Johns Hopkins University. He currently practices at St. John Providence Hospital and Medical Center Michigan, where he serves as Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology.
Dr. Faust specializes in minimally-invasive surgery for pediatric ENT, specifically for the sinuses, and endoscopic surgery for abnormalities of the skull base. His experience working with the Robotic Surgery Program at Michigan Children’s Hospital lead him to publish the first general text on robotic surgery: Robotics in Surgery: History, Current and Future Applications (Nova Science Publishers, 2006). Dr. Faust has been awarded the Honor Award by the American Academy of Otolarngology-Head & Neck Surgery.
Despite his expertise as a pediatric ENT surgeon, Dr. Faust believes in using an integrative approach to re-establishing a healthy balance, combining the best of conventional and alternative medicine to help children achieve optimal health without surgery whenever possible. He has found this approach to be both “successful and profoundly gratifying.” Through technology, Dr. Faust believes doctors can have an even larger impact on patients’ health—“I am a tech geek, applying that passion to improving medicine.”
By tapping into the knowledge and expertise of Expert Medical contributors like Dr. Faust, HealthTap is building a new, innovative, and personalized way to access and obtain health information online.
